Hot Well Arizona Dune Guide is an independent planning resource. It is not the Bureau of Land Management, Arizona Game and Fish, or any other agency, and it has no authority over access.
The recreation area has been through a run of funded improvements covering roads, cabanas, picnic sites, camping units, and toilets. That is good news and it also means anything written about the campground can go out of date between visits. Confirm current availability with the Safford Field Office.
BLM controls access, fees, camping, and closures. Arizona Game and Fish and ADOT govern OHV decals and registration. Arizona 511 covers the roads. Where any of them differs from this guide, they are right and this page is wrong.
Fees, pass prices, decal requirements, and stay limits are all subject to revision. The figures here are a prompt to check rather than a quotation you can rely on at a pay station.
You remain responsible for your route, equipment, water, skills, group, and decisions. Nothing here promises that a wash is dry, a route is open, or conditions are survivable on the day you go.
If something here is wrong, say so and point at a current official source. Documented corrections get made.
